Title: You Must Fear God!
Text: Exodos 1:15-22
Theme: The faithful must fear God rather than people.

I am sure you believe in God and that God is alive and also that God is working in this world. What I want to tell you today is that you must fear God rather than your friends, parents, teachers, or others.
Whom do you have ever feared? Who is the most feared one? Probably most of you fear your parents or some one who can stop your happiness. Is that right? However, the scripture said that there is no one other than God we must fear.
There were two midwives. They were Hebrews. One day the king of Egypt, Pharaoh ordered them to kill Hebrew baby boys when they are about to born. However, the midwives thought that there is God whom they fear. Therefore they wanted to obey God than Pharaoh.
What do you think of their decision? Were they right?
Yes! Yes! They did very well. They did not kill Hebrew baby boys because that would unplease God.
Sometimes people, I mean, friends, family, neighbors, and others, want us to act by what they request or demand. Then what is the point is that. People might lead you wrong and sinful way. For example, your friend would force you not to attend Sunday service in order to study together. One more example, what would you do if your friends want you to steal a tiny little thing in a grocery store for just fun?
Hebrew midwives, Shiphrah and Puah, did wisely. Let’s go back to the Bible. Verse17. “But because of the midwives feared God, they refused to obey the king and allowed the boys to live, too.
God has seen all they have done to Hebrew babies, so God blessed their family. God’s grace was upon them. This blessing is in front of you right now. That is your choice whether you obey God or not. Ask to God what you should do in your everyday life. Then you will get wisdom from God. Please remember that God want you to obey God and fear God, not other people.

Oh! God. We love you. Thank you for the Cross of Jesus Christ. We love you and we want fear you than others. Help us to follow Jesus. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
